Vietnam online visa

Vietnam e-Visa is a visa type that foreigners can obtain without visiting the nearest Vietnam Embassy. Instead, they can complete the entire visa application process online. This is a more convenient method of applying for a visa as it eliminates the need to book any embassy appointment.

Vietnam offers two types of visas issued for either single or multiple entries with a maximum validity of 90 days.

You can apply for a visa to Vietnam in a few intuitive steps, including providing the required information and necessary documents and covering the processing fee. Once the Vietnamese immigration authorities approve your visa application, a PDF receipt will be delivered straight to your email inbox.

The application can be submitted directly on the website of the Vietnam Immigration Department. The processing time should take around 5 business days but is at the total discretion of the immigration officials.

Current immunization requirements for Vietnam

At the moment, there are no coronavirus restrictions. A traveler arriving in Vietnam does not have to provide either a COVID-19 vaccination proof or a negative test. Vaccination against COVID-19 is highly recommended, though.

A few weeks prior to the date of your planned trip to Vietnam, you should check the vaccinations and certificates required for Vietnam. The recommended vaccination list is available on the official website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Current requirements to enter and exit Vietnam

There are two documents that most nationalities around the world must hold to enter Vietnam. These documents include a relevant visa and a valid passport.

The passport requirements are that it must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of the intended arrival in Vietnam and have at least 2 blank pages.

Exit requirements include having a valid and undamaged passport. Passport damage may even cause exit denial. In case your passport has been lost, stolen, or damaged, make sure to renew it. This rule applies both to entry and exit requirements.
